Reflect Upon a Time You Had to Let Go and Surrender

  • Once you accepted a situation that you couldn’t change, how did it affect you?

Sometimes life’s trials seem too much to bear. The miracles don’t seem to arrive; God is nowhere to be seen; self-compassion isn’t healing the wounds, and we can’t even find peace by meditating because of the storms crashing in our souls.

Sometimes we have to traverse the arid desert sands of our souls to reach God. Sometimes the only thing we can do is surrender. Surrender to God’s will.  God’s infinite mind knows a whole lot more than our limited minds.

I am often amazed at the perfect simplicity of the Serenity Prayer:

God grant me the serenity

to accept the things I cannot change;

courage to change the things I can;

and wisdom to know the difference. ~ Reinhold Niebuhr
