Practice Visualizing Life as a Dream or a Movie

  • Try to “wake up.”
  • Try to envision the Beam of Light throwing light and shadows onto the screen of life.
  • What did you experience?

When we have a nightmare, everything seems and feels so real. When we awake, however, it’s as though it never happened. The suffering is over.

Mystics say that after attaining nirvana, life as we know it seems like a dream. All the suffering they experienced is gone. We suffer, but it is not permanent.

Sometimes you have nightmares and sometimes you have lovely dreams. How real they seem, not only to you but also to those beings in your dream. But when you wake up you know that they were not real, and you can laugh at that unreality… When you realize that life is a dream, then you are free.

Row row row your boat

Gently down the stream

Merrily merrily merrily merrily

Life is but a dream
