What is Stopping You From Pouring Your Heart Out to God?

  • Once you identify the obstacle, problem-solve solutions.

Devotion doesn’t always come naturally. Often, we have to proactively dig inside of our hearts and exhume devotion whenever we can. Just like a prisoner might use a spoon to pick away at his cell wall, day after day, year after year to finally create a hole wide enough to escape, we need to incessantly chip away at the cover of our hearts to eventually reveal the bare reality of God.

How can we expect to experience God without actively loving God?  It’s like spending a lonely day with someone you don’t really like, just to fill the time. It might bring some temporary pleasure, but it leaves you empty and yearning for the real thing.  If we want God, we need to cultivate the love.
