Trusting and Not Even Realizing It

How many times do we worry about situations that turn out fine? In countless ways, we are unconsciously trusting God all the time and don’t even realize it. It’s called “taking things for granted.” We trust that the sun will rise and fall every day. We trust that our loved ones will be safe when we return home from work. When we’re driving, we trust that the car next to us won’t move over a couple of feet and hit us.

Trusting life doesn’t mean that we will be given everything we want. Instead, it is trusting that there is an intellect beneath all action that will provide us with what we ultimately need — even if what we need is a painful lesson that is vital for our spiritual growth.

Can you imagine a life in which your trust in God was completely secure — as matter-of-fact, as the myriad of things you already take for granted? We can build up our trust, but just as when we learn anything, it takes a lot of practice, patience, and trust.

Trusting the Tao, the Cosmos, or God is at the heart of every path. We can fill up our consciousness with God or we can fill up our consciousness with worry and fear. It’s our choice.

I take all the comforts for granted, a home, heat and air.conditioning. I take friends and family for granted. I take health and happiness. Yes, God has been good to me and it is about time I gave him some credit.

I’m agree with only the first comment!
